First Day at TXR Runners
I got a confirmation mail that I was accepted into TXR Runners. Overfilled with joy I had no idea what to do. They told me about signing up for sessions which were happening every weekday after 6 pm. The day I received the mail I applied for the session at 6 pm. Was counting the minutes till it was 5:20 which I decided to leave by. Got all ready, put on my new adidas shoes I'd bought a few days before, clothing appropriate for the weather. Was about a 30 minute drive which there was a few traffic along the way. Once I got to the location I wasn't sure where the meet up point was. Took me a while to figure it out and I found a few people talking at the car park. I approached them and asked if it was the crew for TXR Runners and what do you know it was. It was a warm welcome from the crew and it turned out the coach was feeling ill and was unable to attend the session. I was a little nervous at first but that I got along with the members.
There was about 6 people in total including me. A mini warm up and off we went running a 8km trail. I've done my best of about 6 km without stopping but thats at my own pace which is relatively slower compared to how I was running in the sesssion. It was a mountain, muddy trail which had a increasing slope. It was my very first time running in this trail and there was a rule that they follow, where after every 1 km they'd rest and let everyone catch up. Yeah, I was 2nd last in that first km. One of the members told me it was the hardest km to pass than it'll be easier. I took my time, was feeling a little exhausted but was awaiting to run the next km. Everyone took their time was about a 2 minute break and we started running again.
Into the 2nd km it felt much more easier but definitely started feeling much more exhausted as this trail was a challenging one to tackle especially being a first time for me it was much harder. I covered about 4 km running than it was getting way too hard for me to continue through. One of the member's was asking me if I wanted to return back through a shortcut and I decided that it was probably best I did as I was slowing down the running crew. I was very disappointed I wasn't able to complete the full 8km as I would've done about 6 km. I wasn't trying to find an excuse as it was my first time so I was unable to complete the 8 km but I felt that I had made a start which has a long way to travel. Thats all that matters, making a start to your dreams are much more worth it than keeping it a dream. Overall I was feeling down that day but to think about it I feel happy of the beginning I've started.
